Serenity is a fashion editorial project I developed in collaboration with photography students from LaSalle, Leigh, and Camila.
For this photoshoot, I designed the garments and the styling. For the wardrobe design, I was inspired by the London-based designer Susan Fang, known for her vibrant colors and soft and voluminous structures.
Serenity focuses on conveying calm and a connection to the environment, like being in a dream while living.
For this project, I first focused on finding inspiration behind Susan Fang, observing her techniques and the shapes she uses in her collections. I chose to use tulle as the main fabric because it provides greater fluidity and transparency to the look. The session took place at Beaconsfield Park in Vancouver. For the outfit styling, I designed some accessories such as wristbands and earrings, which were made with the same material as the garments to maintain a connection between them. The model had a clean makeup look, and her hair was styled in natural waves to complement her natural essence.
Through this project, I was able to experience the development of a fashion editorial, not only from the organization and search for photographers, but also from the development of the garments and accessories. I was involved in every stage of the design and styling process, which gave me insight into what was developed during this photoshoot and for the editorial. Moreover, I developed a concept that could be visualized by the team, photographers, and the model.
